My "Don't Do" List

Are there things at WDW that you never do when you're in the Parks? Here's my list:

  • I have never been to the American Idol Experience in Hollywood Studios. It just doesn't appeal to me. Even though I think it might be interesting, I just never want to waste time when I could be watching the Beauty and the Beast show instead.
  • The Astro Orbiter in Tomorrowland makes me ill just LOOKING at it. NO THANK YOU.
  • I've never been to the Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor. I just can't imagine that it would be a dynamic attraction. Again, I have this paranoia of wasting time in the Parks!
  • Stitch's Great Escape. Need I say more? By the way, WHEN is Disney going to get the public outcry memo that it's just not a successful attraction?
  • I have never been to Tom Sawyer Island! Maybe I'll take my kids there on our next visit. I can imagine it won't become a regular thing, though.\
  • Tomorrowland Indy Speedway. . .never done it. Don't plan to. However, I think my husband and son might really get a kick out of it this next time around.
  • I've never seen The Circle of Life: An Environmental Fable. I know how shallow this makes me, but I am just not interested.
  • Never seen Ellen's Energy Adventure.
  • I've only briefly walked through the Innovations, etc. exhibits. Again with the wasting time thing.
  • What is the Universe of Energy? Anyone?
  • I HATE the Honey I Shrunk the Kids attraction. 3D shows (except for Philharmagic) terrify me, because I never know what's coming and I DESPISE effects like rats or bugs running over my legs. OH MY GOSH NO THANK YOU.
  • Star Tours = nope.
  • Tower of Terror and Rockin' Roller Coaster. I did Rockin' Roller Coaster once (in my more adventurous days) and I made it, but I just won't do it again. TOT is one of those that I look at and have to turn away because I'll get sick. Thanks for the motion sickness genes, Dad.
  • The only things I've done at Animal Kingdom are Kali River Rapids (my husband made me and I still haven't forgiven him), and the Finding Nemo Musical. LOVED the musical, but I generally dislike Animal Kingdom (I know, hate me).
What do you skip over when you visit Walt Disney World???

Magical Blogorail - Jump Into the Movies!

Welcome to the first stop aboard Magical Blogorail Black! Enjoy the ride as we discuss the topic: "If you could jump into any Disney movie (animated or live action) and experience it as if it were "real life," which movie would you choose and why?"

I chose this topic because I think anywhere in the World of Disney would be just about the best places to live (or at least experience for awhile)! Here are my picks:

The One and Only Genuine Original Family Band. I'd love to hang out with the Bower family and sing and dance with them in their barn!

I've also always wanted to run around in the open horse field with Lesley Ann Warren. Does anyone else love this scene?!

Similarly, I would love to stay at the Biddle mansion in The Happiest Millionaire! It's so beautiful and stately. Also, I would love to take boxing lessons with Mr. Biddle.

How awesome would it be to dance with Fred McMurray?!

A scene that doesn't get much attention is the ice cream parlor. I LOVE this scene, because I picture being there, enjoying a simpler time. I think this is why I love Main Street U.S.A. at Disney World so much - it's so quaint and perfect!

I think it would be really cool to experience the look of Eyvind Earle's artwork in Sleeping Beauty in person. I can just picture walking through it.

I think just about everyone wants to hang out in the Darling nursery in London for a little while (and maybe see Peter Pan?!)!

Since there aren't any limits in this topic, I'll include that I would LOVE to be a mermaid in King Triton's kingdom from The Little Mermaid. How awesome would that be?! I can imagine swimming up to Triton's castle for a concert.

What's exciting is that since the Little Mermaid ride is coming to Disney World soon, we can sort of experience what it's like to be a mer-person!

And for the piece de resistance..... the ultimate would be waltzing in the Beast's castle ballroom, from Beauty and the Beast!

And of course, everyone knows where I'm going with this. Now we really CAN experience the Beast's castle! Be Our Guest restaurant is coming soon to Disney World! I literally can't wait to pretend I'm Belle (in my mind, of course) and take in the gorgeous, gorgeous scenery!
